I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Sally Harrison. Sally has had a brilliant career as an artist and has captured the Australian outback with all it's beautiful landscapes and people. She was born on Australia Day which seems very approprivate since, her paintings are based on the Australian bush and people.
Sally is truly remarkable;she is a self taught artist with Aboriginal hertitage. She has drawn upon her experience as one of the "Stolen generation" to produce beautiful dot paintings. She did not start this until she was 43 years old as she was searching for a way to come with her troubled childhood. You can feel the emotion in Sally's paintings as you go on a journey to discover about her childhood and memories.
Sally has been showing her work locally for the past 6 years and has recieved numerous awards such as '2006 best in show' in Ipswich and '2006 Ipswich Art Awards Mayoral Acquistition Prize'. She has even had two solo exhibitons.
I know everyone will enjoy viewing all of the pieces, so take your time and go back with Sally. See how she remembers her childhood days and enjoy the bush scenery and bright and bold colours. Sally truely believes the land will lift her spirits regardless of her promblems. Maybe you can take away a bit of that by looking at her paintings
Thank you
